The word fruit is mentioned over 60 times in the New Testament alone.

Since the beginning of time, we see stories revolvoing around fruit. Beginning with the bite of a piece of fruit from the forbidden tree. What did that fruit symbolize? Sin, disobedience, rejection, defiance. They weren’t told not to eat fruit, but from that specific tree. When we look at trees in real life, we see beauty, life and strength. Trees that are not taken care of or are poisonous, die. If you see trees that grow fungus in their roots and how quickly the tree stops producing leaves and fruits and then literally dies. We are meant to look at our lives as the life of a tree. Our, “fruits” are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. When we meditate on these things, our lives thrive and our fruits do as well. Life and the world, can easily take our focus off these things but it is so important to try to find ways to be the light in this dark world.
